MAP Week 03c: Meditation (45-Second Pulse)------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Directions: The meditation series was designed for those learning to silence their internal mental chatter for longer and longer periods of time, a skill necessary for OBE (see chapter 3). Use "MAP Week 03: Meditation (No Pulse)" with all meditation exercises given this week. For extra practice, use the pulsed series. Start with "MAP Week 03: Meditation (15-Second Pulse)". Sit or lie down, relax, and quiet your mind. To keep your thoughts clear, simply listen in expectation of the musical tone, which repeats every 15 seconds. As you grow more proficient at keeping your mind clear for 15 seconds at a time, advance to the 30-second program, then the 45-second program, etc., until you are able to keep your mind completely clear of internal mental dialogue for at least 3 minutes at a time.
Once one reaches the proficiency of 3 minutes with a clear mind, holding the mind clear beyond that point won't take much more learning skill. Because of this, a descending triad of notes sounds at the 3-minute mark for each of the pulsed programs in an effort for the listener to gauge increasing skill level and the passage of time.
Overview: This program features three voices. One voice gradually (and inaudibly) lowers from a binaural beat frequency of 15 Hz (awake, beta consciousness) to 7.5 Hz (a drowsy, alpha state) during the first 6 minutes. Two other quieter voices remain at a binaural beat frequency of 4 Hz (deeper, delta state ideal for OBE). Thereafter, all three voices remain at the same binaural beat frequency for the additional 84 minutes of the program. In the pulsed programs, a brief tone is repeated at given intervals specified in the title of the preset. Each preset in the pulsed series also plays a descending triad of notes to mark 3-minute intervals. Visual frequency moves from 15 to 7.5 Hz and remains at 7.5 Hz throughout the remainder of the program.
Preset Duration: 90 minutes.
