NOX

This preset can be used for deep meditation or for falling asleep, and is inspired by several sources. The first voice is a decline, fairly steady from 12.5 leveling off at 2 and then going down to .2, and inspired by Centerpointe's stuff (but with constant volume). The second and third voices are binaurals at 4.5 (listed as shamanic states of consciousness), but with carriers in the upper and lower end of audible spectrum. For me, it enhances the effects. Voice 4 sweeps from 4-8. The background I use is huge (close to 50 meg) and is a custom made wind/rain/water/thunder loop close to 4 minutes long. Unfortunately, even as an mp3 it is too big to upload here. If there is interest, I will see about a way to get it out.

Maybe someone on the yahoo group [email protected] might have some idea or location to stage a file that size. I'll look around and get back to you...

I use the nature sound therapy program for my backgrounds !.. try that one out you wont be disapointed.

Are the backgrounds really that necesary?

I find they help. The best backgrounds [I find] are those that the brain cannot anticipate what is going to happen next. I find if the brain gets bored, it will begin to disregard everything, binaural included.

That's why I tend to steer clear of using the built-in background sound feature that Brainwave Generator has. I've found you can get less repetitive effects from a MOD-style synthesizer running alongside Brainwave Generator. [BUZZ is a freeware one - you can download a copy at www.buzzmachines,com - it's pretty powerful, albeit a little buggy. You can create all sorts of funky noise effects with it.]

I don't understand the audio carrier frequencies of the binaural beats be set so high (ie 18000 hrz voice). I would think that you are forfeiting a binaural effect in that at that frequency, the sound will not be refracted internally by the skull. Is this an irrelevant consideration?

The use of overly high and overly low frequencies are part of me playing around with variations on the 'Tomatis Effect'.

hello world!

You could upload the larger files to either www.rapidshare.com or www.megaupload.com -- both have free services and give a link to post here for others to download them.
