I always wanted a cool theta preset, but I couldn't find one that I like. So here it is.

Effects:

This preset always puts me into a state of relaxed bliss. My body falls asleep, while my mind is wide awake, and intensely but nonlinearly creative. Or, if I exert the discipline, it can lead to a deep meditative state with bursts of insight.

Description:

Just a theta experiment I wrote. All the frequencies sweep down from 13 hz. I read that binaural beats don't really start working until heard for 20 minutes. So I gave it a long sweep down, and let it sit for a while. There is one voice that bounces up and down between 2.5 and 4.5 hz. I also kept a quiet 13 hz in there, along with schumann's resonance in a low carrier tone.

Any voices that are not theta, I gave a different waveform, to help them stand out without unneccesary volume. I used octaves too, for a richer sound. It is a bit long, being 45 minutes, but it is well worth it. The sweep down from 13 hz seems long, but it is well worth it, since it entrains your brain down to theta more soundly. Once you get into the Ultimate Theta Experience, you could stay there forever.

The preset sounds good, but your e-mail is a wee bid odd don't you think lol

babiestastegood??!?
AHHH!!

Dear Mr. Farmer,
You are right babies are tasty. They remind me of chicken if cooked properly. On a personal note, I am impressed at your attention to detail, and apparent research on the subject of binaural beats. Could you suggest some sites where I can study up? I am especially interested in the various freqs, and their correlation to brain activity. Thanks, pook-dog

Howdy festus!!
Being new to BWG I just found your preset and like pooky I'd like to research binaural beats more fully.
Got any links for us??
Thanks,

Just got a frequency list and messed with it. I didn't use specific frequencies, except for schumann's resonance. The 13hz is an arbitrary number I chose to keep myself from falling asleep while listening. 4hz is a good general theta frequency, and 2.5/4.5 is just to get you to go a little deeper and border on delta/theta. I think I may have looked up the frequencies for musical notes for the carrier tones, but maybe that was a different one that I haven't posted. All the rest of the info is freely available on discussion forums, except it was my idea to have different waveforms. I just noticed that when I have more than say 3 voices, they are all competing for volume, even at markedly different frequencies, so to make them stand out, I used triangle or square waves (don't remember, if you really care, check the preset).
Just get creative. I just posed myself the question "What would my brain tend toward more easily?"
Also, it's not in the description, but there's some noise in the background out of phase.

I read on another page that sine waves must be used.

There was also mention that if the sounds have any harmonic tones, the singular hertz separation (4hz for example) will not be achieved.
