hi,
i have been playing around with this brainwave generator for
some time now and must say it's an awesome program! Any
suggestions about creating my own presets because i am a
bit lost with all those option charts. Maybe there are too
many options to choose from...

there are a large number of places to find this information on the web.
however if you do not have the time to study for years i highly recommend
going to http://www.brainmaster.com/faq1/brainw1.htm and reading this and
also 2 and 3. this is a very good source of ideas on the frequencies to
try. [email protected]

Hi there,
I am using the BrainWave Generator since 5 days. You say it is an
"awesome program"... I will tell you it is a very small program. Do you
know synthesizer programs? These programs habe very many options but not
too much. And the BrainWave Generator is very simple. We do don't
looking for a good roboter? Sorry, but it will be help you with your
computer. Now I am using the BrainWave Generator for a
non-commercial-CD-production with contemporary music.

Hi,
Here are a few things that help me make presets:
1) a table of correspondences between frequencies and the human body;
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Parthenon/4572/tableof.htm
I tried the "headache treatment, varying..." preset in the new BWG, at a
moment I really needed it, it was effective and I noticed that the audible
frequencies are in the range of 600 to 450 which corresponds to the upper
part of the head, and above. So I made some presets for different parts of
the body, applying the a method similar to Mikko Noromaa's headache
treatment preset, namely:
Length of segment 1 minute, with one node allowing a sweep of frequencies
moving up and down over the selected area Repeated any number of times. A
second voice does a similar sweep in the opposite direction.
This works for me, especially when I turn attention and suggestion of
healing to the part of the body and the audible frequency that resonates
with it according to this system. The attached preset, entitled "chest" I
found effective against a feeling of heaviness, tightness and congestion in
the chest. It soon produces a feeling of oxygenation, lightness and relief.
Take a look at the options of the said headache preset and the "chest"
preset to get a better idea of the method used.
I am trying out presets made in this way for kidneys, lungs, liver, heart ,
spleen and the "triple warmer " meridian to go with the Taoist exercise
called "the six healing sounds".
Another way to discover new presets is by making a preset for the current
three hour period, as in the table "Figure of the seven circulations" an the
accompanying table of frequencies.
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Parthenon/4572/sevcr.htm
Two or more voices can combine in many different ways for any 3hr period.
When I want to play with presets and don't know what to try, I simply work
on the current 3hr period.
Begin with two voices, then experiment with backgrounds, modulation etc. and
soon it all becomes familiar. It is easier to make progress if you have some
goal in mind, when creating new presets, two ways I found to define a goal
are as above: the resonances in the body, and the 3hr periods.
Begin with simple, two voice presets and then gradually expand. You are
welcome to download the above pages from my site, if you find them useful.
Good luck, and enjoy!

Hi Yanis,
many thanks for your information. The mailing list brings me it.
I want tell you that I am produced a special audio-CD with sounds of the
BrainWave Generator. Now it is a non-commercial-production but very
professional. But it is not a stupit copy of the BrainWave Generator
sounds.
Today your information was a good help to check my last compositions.
An example: There are in the first time of a track a sound tone of the
BrainWave Generator. I begins with a soft and deep frequence. And then I
mix it with other synthesizer sounds or samples in a percussive system.
And so it is a special kind of music. Very lovely, nice, good for
background if you are working creative.
It would be very nice if you answere me.

Effects are really intersting to try, the only problem is that every new
option should be tried for a full session of 10 minutes or more. Just
don't have the time for that. :-)
anyway the builtin presets seem very limited compared to what I can
really do! For example, several voices, segments etc.

Hello all,
First of all, please forvige my not-very-good-english. I'm interested in
this file you said (the one fro the chest). Can you mail it for me, please?
Thanks a lot.
Ah... BG is the best program I used, apart of Cool Edit. Someone who has
used both can compare it in the list, please?

I have used the Cool Edit Pro brainwave settings. It's really no different
except you can apply it to any sound file and really customize anyway you
wish. Because of the nature of the program, being a sound editor. BG is
good for some one who just wants to install and that's it, simple and
nothing to mess with.

I mean the frequencies, which correspondence with the frequencies of the
brain. Now my CD is complete, composed with the brain frequencies and a
little help with the BrainWave Generator. Playtime: 58:23 - 11 tracks.
I had send a demo-copy (playtime: 33:00 - 5 tracks) to a lady in
Finnland. She writes:
Hallo Harald,
I have got the demo-cd!I have listened it twice, it was very interesting
and
when I afterwards came to the computer I noticed that I was in a state
of
harmony, just as if I had been meditating. I have never actually
meditated,
but this music makes it easy just to concentrate to listening. I have
listened it with a cd-player and with my computer. Juho and Jere have
better
cd-player in their computers (BUT I have never used them, I must ask for
advice. Juho will say: you are SO stupid, he always says so. Jere is
better
in educating me) and I will listen the cd in their computer, too.
In 'normal' CD-player: I thought: When listening with
my
computer:
1.Treravon:
I felt like being in the space. There was
this space-effect first, but then there was an inside-feeling,
Easy to reach a stage of meditation. it calms down.
I liked it.
2. Nice, I liked it
Space.
As if I were in a cave.
3. Frightening.
There
was nothing frightening. started to like it.
4. I was listening myself, strong There was a
horse gallopping
inside feeling
5. Very beautiful, like music played with organ. The same feeling
as
when played with 'normal' cd-player.
This is very interesting, I still feel that I do not want to come out of
this inside feeling of pleasure, I do not want to think any nasty things
and
I want to listen to it again. The next time I will use earphones.
I was thinking, what do you think or feel when composing it?
This is the first time I have listened to this kind of music. I have
heard
it in TV as a background music.
Yesterday evening I thought, that when I get this CD and listen to it,
what
if I do not like it. Then I decided that I shall be honest. I am not
polite,
I am honest.
I think that I will feel it differently next time I listen to it, it
requires good cd-player.
Those your earlier compositions, were they like this, too?
What I do not like is 'metallic' music, the music without a melody. Leif
Segerstam (Finn) has composed new music which is played by an orchestra,
and
I simply cannot listen to it, it makes me crazy.
The first layout cover (face of a woman, dark blue) suits very well to
this
music, I think so.

I am a french journalist and writer using

Sure, the only difference between left/right is in the pitch of the tones
presented to the ears.
> 2. Where should I sit in relation to the speakers?
So that most of the sound from the left speaker goes to your left ear
and as little as possible to the right ear. And the same for right
speaker/ear.
HOWEVER, please note that using speakers (instead of earphones) is
NOT optimal at all. You will hear the binaural beat but since most
of the mixing happens "on the air" (not in your brain), the effect
is far lesser than with earphones. If you absolutely can't use
earphones, you can try BrainWave Generator with speakers, but do
not expect very good results.

You should find your answer in Megabrain,
by Mickael Hutchison (Beach Tree Book, 1986)
now in paperback.

You should listen through headphones for binaural beats to work.

Hi. I have a few questions about the BWG. =20
1. I have 2 speakers, but the left is on my right, and the right on =
my left. Will it still work?
2. Where should I sit in relation to the speakers?
Thanks,
Andrew

Hi,

This is very true. Actually, we got a lot of suggestions of
different kinds of presets to be included as built-in presets.
However, they ranged so much in content and other areas that
it was decided that only the basic set of presets be included.
For example, one user claimed to achieve a nice relaxed
meditation state with a binaural beat frequency above 20 Hz.
The Presets section of our Web site (http://www.bwgen.com)
is meant for these more "unconventional" presets. Please feel
free to send your presets to be posted onto this site!
